One of my two adfs just died from the tank that has been plagued with a bacterial infection. He's been hanging around in the floating plants alot, but this did not alarm me because he's been doing it for a couple of months now (they are growing really well). Anyhow, I got a good look at him, snapped these pictures, put him in quarantine with a little salt in the water, 1/2 tsp per gallon, and he was dead withing a half an hour. Does anyone have an idea of what this is, is it fungal, or part of the bacteria hell I am cursed with. Thanks, and sorry, I'm pretty upset and still crying over him.
Thanks,
Mary.

First of all sorry for your loss.

My first guess would be some type of fungus. I had something similar happen to one of my ADF's about 8 months ago. I think mine was due to poor water conditions because I wasn't as informed then as I am now. Someone might correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the salt would have done your frog any favors.

that's really weird, and i'm sure this isn't the case, but when i go fishing i use frogs and hook them right there, if the frog doesn't catch me anything, i take the hook out and it looks EXACTLY like that. most of the time you can count on a big catfish or bass with one though.

You know Puff, you're a f*n jerk. I'm sitting here crying over my pet, and you say something like that. I hope when you have some major and minor losses in your life, people don't give you what you just gave me.

I had some newts long ago that had something like that and it actually ate away their legs and tails. He was probably lucky to go when he did and not be subjected to their fate. Unfortunately I didnt know hardly anything at all about fish at the time and I have learned from my mistakes. All of my newts died from it. I havent had any since.

I was stating that it looked like a puncture wound. Sorry if i affended you, but i didn't call you a F*N B$##% so watch your mouth.

you want help? Melafix, all natural. IMO, salt is probably not a good idea for frogs. Should have posted questions long before he looked like he did. Probably would have been too late by the time he looked like that. Sorry for your loss.

Pufferposion

Pimafix if fungus, not melafix.

When someone is here looking for help, it is considered rude to give anecdotes related to fishing with that persons pet as bait!

For example, "hi puff. I know your betta is sick, but they make taste fish sandwiches."

RUDE

so is calling someone names.

::ding ding:: Fighters, go to your corners!!! Round 2 will begin shortly. :duh:
Okay people, puff she was upset and you did nothing to help, and yes she should not have called you a name. But now yall have called each other names and made each other angry so yall are even. :joke:
