I have a pair of ADF's whao have recently begun courting. I'm not planning on keeping all the tadpoles, I'm gonna let my small community tank take care of the ones I don't rescue, and I have homes for the ones I'm trying to keep. But anyways, I have a female who is reddish in color and a silvery male, I was wondering if anyone ever thought of breeding for color. I have already been told that there is probably a reason they haven't been bred for color, but I need a project to keep me occupied in my dorm and I was considering trying to breed them. I have experiance working with Herps and thought this might be a nice challenge. I would be greatfull for any advice.

I've never bred ADF's, but I have given a lot of thought towards breeding goldfish for a blue color.

The only advice I can give you is to start with quite a few individuals; say 20. Also, look to purchase the individuals that have the most red color. Make a catalogue of each individual, and keep each of the breeding pairs seperated......that way there's no guessing at which one bred with the other.

Then try different combos of frogs to see which produce frogs with the most red color.........it sounds simple, but it could take a couple years to actually see results if any.
