ADF's???

Golfish are coldwater fish, your gourami and adf's are not. They are tropical. Mixing goldfish and tropical fish is a no no for several reasons, briefly including the temp. requirements, food requirements, ammonia levels and goldfish are vectors for tropical fish diseases.

A full grown goldfish can be huge and can eat ADF's.

To ensure their proper weight and nutrition, ADF's are best suited towards small tanks and target feedings.

opps sorry thought i was clear on what i meant... i am not planning on having anything else with the GF that is why i was questioning the ADF's with my angels and sailfin... if i move them then i have a free tank.... considering what has been said about the size of GF though think i may just get a "gold" colored fish of another smaller species for her (hey she is only 3 she will never know the difference) lol

LOL good idea. Platys are gold and will do well in there. I think they are very pretty. Some of them have black spots and some are gold and redish.

You could get a couple platys or swordtails, they come in lots of gold, red and orange hues. The only caveat with livebearers is that they reproduce like... well [insert appropriate comment here]. If you can, get all males or all females, so you don't have a population explosion :D

thanks all

thanks for the suggestions on species.... hanniyah's only demand is that it be orange (she has pointed out some with other colors as well as the orange but orange was always the main color)

with regards to the "live bearer" population explosion thing though.... i understand that the adult fish would eat the babies... would that be enough to keep numbers down? i have a LFS that i know does trades of babies for stock he has rather than buying fish he has to ship in also. would a combination of the two be necessary to keep numbers reasonable? personally the only "baby fish" i ever watched was my dads paranah (hmmmm cant think how to spell that, you know those lovely flesh eating fish lol) not the most beautiful fish in the world but they do teach cats the "paws out" rule verry quickly

Yeah, that would work great. Also, the fry would make great snacks for your angels (forgot about them). When you see fry of a good size, just net them out, dump em in your big tank and watch the fun
