I installed an Eheim 2215 canister filter on my 37 gallon tank today. It has been running an hour and still makes a slight noise. Is there anyway to adjust it to make it run silent or will it quite down in time. Also the output current is fairly strong, though my fish don't seem to mind. However can it be adjusted if I wanted to? (The plants closest to the output are taking a slight beating) Everything in the tank is moving around - my crop of Peacock moss has taken on a new shape because of the current even though it is a foot and a half away from the spray bar!

Thanks

It sounds like there is still air in the filter. If you have the Quick Disconnects on the hose, try this. Unplug the filter, get an empty pail, shut the disconnect on the output hose to the spray bar & hold it in the pail, open the disconnect & plug the filter in. When you have a good flow of water with no air pockets, you should be good to go.

Also make sure the top of the filter canister is below the water line of the fish tank and that the hose from the filter canister are not too long & droop behind the tank.

if it's still making noise, you need to continue to prime it (push down the big "easy looking button" on the top of the canister because there is still air in it as explained buy dudley. It may seem that you primed it an awful lot but you haven't yet. I had an eheim running and thought for sure mine was broken because I felt I primed it way more than enough, yet I continued on and eventually, the noise went silent.

if u have air trapped just unlock the clips and then lock them u will fix the noise my eheim 2215 runs quite i cant even hear it running when i put my ears next to it good luck :)
