Quartz and MH are probably close to the same in heat output. As far as light intensity AKA lumens I think each bulb company differs. I would look at an Astralux, or Coralvue in the 10K if your looking for a clean white with tinge of blue that has no yellow at all. I know ADA sells 8K bulbs that are a greenish tint.
