African Compatability

This might seem like a silly question, but................................
If I go into a lfs and see a peacock that I would like for my peacock tank, how can I tell if this fish labeled "xxx peacock" will be compatable with my other mildly aggressive peacocks? Is there a way of knowing?

For the most part they are all compatible if housed properly. I try to not mix africans and peacocks of the same color because they are supposedly more aggressive to their own kind/color.

Something to think about is the m/f ratio, I have all males but from reading posts its either all males or 1m/3f. What size is your tank and what kind of cichlids do you have?

I would research any fish before you buy it then you will know.
