Does anyone else find that these little fellows are extremely dirty?? I have a terrible time trying to keep the little tank clean

What size is your tank and You do know that they Molt right?
What is your feeding schedule like?

These are the only things that Specifically relate to ADF's that I can think would make their tank dirty.

Good luck. :p:

Yeah, they can be dirty...lol...I once had to keep a pair of them in a smaller bare bottomed tank for a short bit...I could really see just how dirty they are while they were in there.

A neighbor of mine had 2 of the clawed frogs in a large tank...with NOTHING in it but water and frogs..lol..She complained about how filthy and smelly the water always was and always having to to do changes. (what an ugly frog BTW...my first look at those and I can't see why anyone would want one..BLAH)

The frog gets fed a sinking pellet once every 2 - 3 days and he and the betta make short work of it ;) (the betta won't eat betta food anymore, only the pellet). And yeah, I know he molts - I remove froggy suits every few days! ;)

hmmm......... Odd I have one ADF in a 2 gal with a betta and their tank doesn't get that dirty. I have my other 2 ADF's in a 10 gal with a betta, 4 cories and 2 otos and still It's not that dirty.

I also feed My bettas 2-3 freeze dried bloodworms everyday day and then 1 shirmp pellet for each of my Adf's everyday.

I guess I must just be lucky.

What is your tank size?

From my experience, (4 in a 5g) fed fairly lg feedings once every 3 days or so, when their bellies look hungry, I haven't had too much difference from my fish tank. I do a partial change about every week and a big one with vaccuming about once a month. The tank has a running filter.

Do you have a filtered or unfiltered tank? That may be it.

Leopardess is really good with this topic and has an articl in the article section, i fyou haven't found that out already:)

The corys are probably eating up the crud. I do have a 10 gallon with 3 female betta, two ADFs and one long finned zebra danio that stays pretty clean....but I have one 10gallon size sponge filter in there along with a mini whisper filter. The plants in there are all plastic with the exception of a bit of java moss. I have a shallow bed of gravel in there as well. The water sparkles...lol...and that's my "junk" tank ! (the tank I keep my 'junkie' fish in...lol..oddballs that I had to move for one reason or another)
