I've had 2 african Dwarf Frogs for about 2 yrs now. One is almost twice the size as the other, which i'm assuming are male and female.
I have kept them in a tall square tank that I actually got flowers in but turned into a perfect aquarium for my 2 gold fish and frogs. Yesterday I noticed the female has all of a sudden become much lighter in color and appearred to have grown rather fat over nite.....LOL. My question is, is the lighter almost pale yellow color change anything to worry about? or is that something that is normal, I have never noticed this before in either of the frogs.

I guess at the moment there isn't anyone who can help me with this, I'll just keep checking back and looking for answers on the 'net....

well have you heard "singing" at nights from your tank? if so that was the male searching for a female ADF, as he would be ready to mate. it could be that she has become full of eggs, or she has started to bloat. bloating can be caused by overfeeding (and prob. other things 2) and many ADF's die from it. two of my first ADF's died from it to be exact. other than that there's no other things i can think of.

If you have your fish in a flower container, I'd be more worried about the goldfish ;)
Fancies need atleast 25 Gallons each and 10 Gallons for ever other one.
Coments and Commons belong in a pond.

thanks all for your responses, I haven't heard "singing" but they both are fat!, I sure hope they don't have bloat, I'd be so sad for that to happen after having them for 2 yrs. My gold fish, are just feeder gold fish my daughters won at school, we had 3 in a gold fish bowl, but my cat decided to go fishing one day and knocked it over, gold fish and water all over the kitchen floor, one of the fish died but these 2 are thriving well after 2 yrs, and have grown quite well. The frogs eat fine, so I dont' know if it is bloat, i don't over feed and what i feed them is betta food, little crumble type food, which drops to the bottom of the tank, I should explain that this "vase" isn't so much a vase as it is a tall glass tank type thing that holds probably about 5 gallons of water. I"m going to try to take a pic and post it so you can see what i'm talking about......thanks again !
