African Knifefish: Tankmates?

Has anyone kept an African Knife in a community setting? If so, what were the tankmates?

I have a Brown African Knife in a 125 gallon tank with 2 Severums, 1 Polleni, 1 Nicaraganese, 1 Robertsoni, 1 Chocolate Pleco, 10 Yo-yo loaches, and 6 silver dollars.

From what I've heard they are not aggressive but they are preditory so dont keep them with anything that can fit in its mouth.

They are predatory and they also are slightly electric. Not like the electric eel or anything, but they can give a slight jolt. My other fish in the tank, give it a wide berth.

keep them with larger, peaceful fish. i wouldnt keep anything smaller than 5 inches with a knife fish.

I am debating on if to move mine into my 125 or find it a new home. I was sure he would eat the tetras and guppies, wasn't sure about the angel. But I am really more concerned about my cory cats. I know they are small enough to eat, but will it chase a bottom feeder?

Yeah, he chases my yo-yos, but they have the spike at the eye and they are to large for him anyway. But he tries.

As long as the angel is good size, it should be alright. Same with the corys, since they have spikes, they have a slight upper hand.

Just make sure they all have a place to hide if needed.

Have one now.....with a school of congo tetras, bearded tetras, crayfish, clams, shrimp.

I guess I could always throw him in for a trial run. See what goes missing in the night.
