Its more like 48 hours. But in this case 24 house is the limit. With Bio Spira there is a chance that it does not work. So test daily, and if the ammoina goes over .5 for more then 24 hours then Id say you have a problem and the BS didnt work. In this case a water change would be a good idea.

If it doesn't work it's usually because it was improperly transported and/or stored. Or it's past it's expiration date. Check the date on the package and make sure it is stored in a refridgerator.
