I recently setup a 10 gallon tank and put in 3 Harlequin Rasboras to start the cycle. I think two are males and the other a female. It has been almost a week since I added them and they appear to be healthy, they are active, eating, and have color. In the last couple of days I have noticed the larger male become very aggressive. At first he was only aggressive towards the female, but now to the other male also. My tank is still cycling so my chemistry is a bit off, but I have been doing 25% to 75% water changes three times a week depending on the quality. Their aren't many places for them to hide because I did not want to add plants until the cycle had completed. Does anyone have input or advice?

I never cycled a tank with them and never found mine to be aggressive. You might want to add more (yes, I said "more") as that will spread any aggression out. By adding more you will be increasing your bio load and will need to closely monitor your water until it catches up. They do best in groups of 8 or more.

Be that as it may, I have only 3 but also have guppies, neons, glowlights, and cories in the same tank.

I thought about adding more, but since my tank is so small I wouldn't be able to put much more in it. I might wait a week and see if he calms down.

I would add the plants now..they will help the cycle and give some cover for the fish to feel less stressed.

Are you eventually planning to add more fishes other than those 3 rasboras?

Yes, but I was going to find other types of fish. I think I am going to pick up two or three more today. Last night I seperated the aggressive male with a fish net. Sortly after that the female became aggressive to the other male in the tank! So I will add more of them and some plants today.
