aggressivness in fish

there is a difference between been aggressive and a predator. Wolf fish is one of the most skilled predator fish, but it isnt aggressive by chasing after everything the moment they hit the water. red belly piranhas are also very skittish.

if i have to pick the most aggressive + predatory fish within the aquarium hobby(otherwise it's pointless - yeah great whites! ...), it would probably be a school of exodons. Those little guys are just plain nuts, they have no fear!

Or a few piranhas from the genus serrasalmus classification. Those fish are so aggressive they cant even be kept with other piranhas and will ram the glass wall chasing after your finger. Have read accounts of aquarists who were bitten on the hands while feeding. The fish would literally jump a few feet out of water to bite the unsuspecting fishkeekper's hands.

most aggressive freshwater

from what i've read, i'd have to say the African Tiger (giant). and i know this doesn't address your question, but for aquarium purposes the most aggressive fish i've seen are these: red devil, auratus, common jewel (H.Bimac). there is no let up at all in these fish. they are relentless! they may not be the out-and-out winners overall, but sheer aggressive behavior - they get my vote. Channa Micropeltes (RL Snakehead) is the meanest aquarium creature i've seen. ANGRY for no reason AT ALL! When you get to see a 20" SH grab a fully grown Red devil by the nuchal hump and shake the willies out of him then release him (as you watch the RD swim off as though its intoxicated and with several brand new body piercings to boot) you begin to understand that it's not always about food with these creatures!

Does anyone have any experiences with Snakeheads and Doviis (fully grown) in the same tank? i've not heard any stories yet, but if i were a bettin man, i'd side with a 40" 15lb SH!

With piranhas it's really up to the individual fish. s. brandtii are supposed to be insanely aggressive, but mine was mellow most of the time. My s. altuvei is a finger chaser, but I can still stick my hand in the tank to clean it. P's are just a skittish fish by nature.

To answer the OP's question I'd say the big aimara at shark aquarium. That thing would eat your dog :devil:
 
the one with the most hormones in the water is the most aggressive :laugh:

ME I JUST WANT A TUFF FISH THEY DAY PIRANHAS SNAKEHEADS BOTH R COOL BUT THERE IS SO MANY DIFFRENT KINDS SO I CAN ONLY SAY ITS ALL UP TO WHAT U WANT AN LIKE I THINK A BLACK PIRANHAS ARE GREAT BUT THE SNAKEHEADS GO DUMB TOO
