Part of the reason mine aren't shy around me may have to do with MY size. I am REALLY short, as in under 5' tall. And, as the water level is 2' above ground level, to my fish I am not quite 3' tall. So I don't cast a big shadow over the water. I started hand feeding mine with pond sticks, which look and smell like cheerios, but are sticks instead of donut shapes. If you wet your finger, you can stick a pond stick to it and hold it right at the water surface, and someone will come by and check it out. Come to think of it, Lupin said once that fish are attracted to garlic. Next time you chop-chop for dinner, why not perfume up a finger or two and see what happensDon't know if it has anything to do with it, but I chatter constantly when I am out there, too...'course, I chatter constantly, anyway, even when I TYPE!!
