Are A H Supply bright kits easy to build? I'm thinking about getting the 1x55 Watt Bright Kit but wasn't sure. Also, which bulb should I get with it in order for the plants to grow? Thanks for all of the opinions.

I just bought the 55 watt kit and installed it last week. It wasn't hard to do, but the finished installation doesn't look all that professional because you have to mount that big ballast somewhere and the wires are everywhere, even though I trimmed them all. Keep in mind that I converted an existing light to make everything fit, so if you use a wood hood, you could probably hide everything well. You can purchase the bulb through them. I picked up the 6700 bulb.

i have a coralife 30 inch 65watt on my 29g and think i am going to purchase one of the 1x55 Watt Bright Kits this weekend for it and put the coralife on another tank it has been highly recommended to me.

i have decided to buy one. thanks for all of the opinions.

Since this thread is here already, I'm going to hitch a question. When you mount the ballast away from the enclosure, how many wires are we talking about will be hanging out if not wrapped properly?

For PC bulbs (4 pin) 2 wires go to ea. endcap (unless you have enough tha the ground jumps from cap to cap), then the power cord goes to the ballast. W/ my ballast, there are one or two unused wires and the rest of the "hot" ones are twisted together as I have a single 96W PC, ballast is designed for that or more. lower wattage bulbs.

Ballasts tend to come w/ good wiring directions/diagrams.
