do you use carbon in your filter ?? I had one tank A 10 gallon I put in my 10 yr olds room, LOL he did not take core of it , and I negleted it trying to get him to do it ..LOL
well.... i went in one am to cut the lights on and feed, bam GREEN !! LOL
so here is MY situation with the green water......
I have never had green water before that tank .. NEVER > but he put a carbon box type filter in it that attaches to a air pump, and he did not chamge the filter, and he also left the light on too long , sometimes for days... And I dont think we overfed, but it could be a posiabilty, thier was no direct sunlight, but I guess the sun did shine into the room from the corner. .. Anyway . I took the tank and tore it down completly , threw out the gravel, and took the carbon out of the filter box, and replaced it after cleaning it with filter floss, (walmart 5.00 ) and put in new sand, and some big rocks, then put in water from a diff tank, and a sponge filter out of a breeder tank, now it is clean . he still gets some brown diatom but I belive that is from the poor lighting fixture, he has no plants in that tank, its just a guppy/hybrid tank and thier is now a marokreb that lives in it
Good luck with the branches, they should help, I would take your filter completly apart and clean it , clean all decor, or anything that can come out and back in ... since you are dosing , dose excel , and I would DEF do a 3 day NO peek !! black out . best of luck .
