Did you mean to say that there are different variants of "S. Fryeri" and that true "S. Ahli's" are hard to find in the hobby?
Yes, my bad. I had a really long day and should have gone to bed.
From the other pic I saw, Im debating whether it is an Ahli or a Blue Peacock. In the pic, the fish has bands and only the face appears to be metallic blue. If you could get a better pic, we could tell you.
The thing on its head is normal. It is just its regular color. He has no gone through his color change 100% yet. This is also why I am leaning towards a male Blue peacock. This happens with most peacocks, and if it was an Ahli, it should be all blue by now.
well the tank i got it from said "Electric Blue" so i am pretty sure that it is an ahli, but what is that gunk on its head?

only one. the small white african i have. but he only scratches when he is chased by the big white african.
AND MY AHLI IS MISSING! I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE IN MY TANK! is it possible that my other fish killed it and my pleco ate its carcass? or something else?
