air leaking into mag 350

I have several mag 360's and still have air leaking into the canister almost filling the canister half full. I've posted on here several times and still have not received any helpful answers. I hope that someone who has a lot of these filters can help me out.
Here is what I have done, checked the air intake for leaks and cant find any, actually redone the intake and outake lines withe pvc pipe, put bead of vasilene around the gasket on the lid to the canister, switched lids and canisters and only found one that didn't do it. what am I missing? please help!

Outlet fully submerged?

Hairline crack in the main tub...does it leak overnight if left off?

All four snap latches holding firmly...I mean you have to push to engage them, not just a touch...?

To answer Q no valves are used to control the flow. To answer bishop, outlets are fully submerged and latches are very firmly in place, don't know what you mean by hairline crack in main tub I assume you mean canister? Is it possible that one of the connectors on the lid is broken? If so how can i find out where it is so i can put some epoxy on it? I do positively know that the hoses and pipes aren't leaking they are all securely fastend . any other ideas?
 
The only times I've had air in the canister is after water changes when air in the water gases out and the only other time was when the inlet to the canister was restricted. After water changes I'll have air in the canister for a couple of days. With the inlet restricted the pump is creating more of a vacuum inside the canister. If your inlet is not restricted then I think that somewhere you must have an air leak. It sounds like you have tried everything that I would have done. You say you have 1 set up that doesn't do it so it sounds to me like you need to go through the process of elimination. I know you say you have tried all kinds of combinations but there must be something different with the one system that works.

Figured out what it was causing the air leak. Cracked lid where someone probably pushed down too hard when they attached the inlet hose!
