Air pump?

In a previous post you said an air pump is good if you are over stocked, and my turbo pump does make micro bubbles that do not go straight up to the surface. It is true that my air pump moves the surface and brings oxygen to the water.

So, why do you argue this point daily? Why would it not benifit the typical understocked tank, and mine is only so called "overstocked"

you should all be smacked. The cycling thing is an extremely important thing to "miss" , everything does hinge on bacteria in your filtration. But hey this person has no filtration.no heating. no airation. basically its just a glass jar. And to clarify, the person said that they HAD a betta before the molly. So i,m guessing the betta has been alive for awhile and probably cycled the "jar". How long have they had the betta.

-Okay confession time. The black molly died due to the fact I did not have a good filtration in the tank and he was put in the tank only a few hours after I set it up (with no filter). It sucks and I know I shouldn't have jumped into it that quickly.

-I now have the tank set up in with a divider in the middle and both of my bettas in the tank. I let it run with clean water and the filter running for at least 24 hrs before adding the bettas, then slowly introduced them to the water. They are now both living happily in the tank. I will get more Mollies when I get back to the petstore that has them, and they will be correctly raised in the tank.

-My only concern at the moment is that the filter seems to be blowing out too big of bubbles and they move the surface of the water too much. Bettas dont like the surface to be broken to much and I'm worried about that bugging the betta that is on that side of the tank. The betta on the other side is very happy (I know because of his bubbles he loves making). The betta on the side with the filter does not blow any bubbles (or if he does, they are broken by the movement of the surface of the water. Any ideas?
