Albino Oscars???

OSCAR BITES

Yes an Oscar can bite you,but they dont inflict bleeding wounds. There teeth are like sand paper,90percent of the time they bite like a playful dog.Since Ive owned Oscars for years I havefound it is best to keep an oscar alone. They interact with the owner much more, theres no competition. As for any color of an Oscar they act the same, but IMO the Tigar grows larger then the rest. The most important factor about Oscars is WATER CHANGES.They always need new water in the tank.

oscars are the coolest

I know red oscars make great pets. They can become very tame, do allow you to stroke them if you've raised them and babied them a lot, they will eat from your hand without biting (mine did anyway) and YES, very much like dogs of the aquarium world. The only draw back was that they ARE very dirty fish, but if you enjoy the interaction, it probably is worth the work.

Have a really big tank, have lots of filtration, and do lots of water changes. Prior to buying one read up on Hole in the Head Disease. oscars seem to be failry prone to this.

I have a red and an albino, both are about 9 inches. The albino lets me pet him and the red will eat out of my hand but not the other way around. They each have thier own unique personality. Easy to feed and easy to care for. Just change the water once a week and feed a variety in diet and they'll live as long as most dogs or cats.
