So ive done alittle bit of research because my one albino tiger barb had some behavioral (and size) changes. I suspect she is maybe about to lay eggs? let me know what you guys think.

Recently she hasnt been swimming with her pack all the time, i find her often at the bottom of the tank, alone, hiding under this 'octopus in a pot' cheesy aquarium decor. Last week my mom saw her floating at the top looking sick, like she was about to die. then i did a partial water change, she perked up, and she is now 75% of the time with her group, and about 25% of the time under that pot. Ive also seen one of the regular tiger barbs and her swimming together, or him picking on her a bit(im assuming its a 'him' and 'her'), down at the bottom by themselves (they are all usually near the top). She is also getting fatter in the lower tummy region. her size is the same as the other albino tiger barb i have, but the stomach is wider...and slightly wider not huge or anything.

So i guess my question is, can an albino tiger barb mate with a regular tiger barb? is she about to lay eggs under that pot? I want some babies to live if this is whats going on...i think i have room and i wanted to beef up that group anyways.

Do i need to separate her? her and him? i have a hungry pleco and wouldnt want him to devour the little guys (he cannot fit under that pot- but i do worry about after they hatch if shes preggers). i also have a little plastic 2.5 gallon quarantine tank that would be good for the new comers...let me know what you guys think is going on here!!!

Yep!

Regular, Albino and Green Tigers are all the same species; just different color morphs.

I got all 3 types, all party hard in their pack.
