Wow that an old post and cant believe I said the footprint was bigger then the Magnum, must of meant Magnum 250 becasue 1 basket would have to be more then 18 inches wide. Anyway there was even a larger basket canister I found that was so tall it had built in wheels. But all of these type were pricey for odd-ball brand canisters. The reason why I liked and still like the Sunsun HW 302 is becasue for being a popular "inline stacked basket canister" the low price, and availability, make it a very good deal over Name brand designs costing hundreds more, 3 dots easy to connect.
But when we are discussing circumference design we are taking a whole different class of filter not based on user friendliness but effectiveness. That all changed when I found the CFS500 becasue for the first time a circumference filter could also be user friendly requiring no complicated basket disassembly, just 1 sponge to squeeze out and 1 blanket filter to toss out. But with far more capability, effectiveness and endurance then the Sunsun for only $7 more, like comparing a well made Ice Chest to a side by side Refrigerator (CFS) and the FX5 being a walk in Frig/freezer IMO.
