The tank has been scrubbed down (thanks to my hubby) and redone. I moved the driftwood more toward the center and added several plants to the right to balance out the ones on the left. I think I have new vals, hygro, and cape something or other (so much for my determination to get better at knowing what I have in my tank!). Added 6 new otos, one died almost instantly (my fault for even taking him, I thought he was sluggish at the LFS but didn't want to leave him alone), the others are happily scrounging for leftovers. So far so good, left the half dead amazon sword in for now and will see if it recovers with the new light.
One other thing I need to do is go thru my test kits and see what I have. I ended up at a LFS yesterday that I never knew exsisted and the guy there is a big planted tank guy. He advised fe testing and supplementing but was out of them.
The reason I was at this store was to get a red sea nano filter and I add my two thumbs way up for this filter in small tanks. I added it to my 2.5F mini bow and it's working great. I just planted it yesterday and decided to add 2 frogs. I think the driftwood piece is too big but it's what I had at the time, and I spent my wad on eco-complete, new plants, the filter, etc. etc. I'll post pictures later IF I can figure it out, or can talk my hubby into doing it for me.
