If they grow aggressive like SAEs, they are NOT suitable for a goldfish tank. They will suck the slimecoat right off a goldfish. If you find anything that suggests otherwise, let me know. They are cute little beggars.

From what I've read, the true SAEs are not aggressive like the Chinese Algae Eaters? I've seen the CAE's work, nasty fish, but I'm fairly sure the SAEs are peaceful and will leave goldfish alone. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the SAEs (only CAEs and Flying Foxes).
I got some more in, I'm experimenting with them in the Goldfish tanks. So far they haven't seemed interesting in going after the goldfish, but I'm not sure they are doing much for the algae either. : Will continue to watch that tank and let you guys know how they do.
They have not bothered the goldfish at all and are doing well in the tank...none have passed as of yet, none have sold either I think. They don't seem to take care of the algae very well though, but might be a good suggestion for people looking for "other fish" to house with the goldfish. They seem to keep to themselves.
