My brother just lost his Yellow Tang who was a great grazer of algae. This is shown int he fact that after the tangs death hair algae quickly took things over (water quality was not an issue there).

Anyways a new tang is a possibility but since he already has a blue tang and the tank really isn't the right size for 2 tangs I was wondering if there was another suitable algae grazer that would work well with that fish and some clown fish as well?

The tank size is 55 gallons (hence not getting another tang) with a 20 gallon sump system on it.

Their are a couple of options like the Lawnmower Algae Blenny (Salarias fasciatus) would be the best or the Emerald (Mirthrax) Crabs also work well. And the other one would be a Rainford's Goby but I would suggest a larger tank for that one. Anyway, hope this helps.
