Algae Growth Blocking HOB Output

Thanks for the treatment, but I'm looking for the cure.....

Could have been an issue with co2 were there plants in the tank? is not was there adequate aeration?

looked scarey in the pics

how were the sides of the tank? or did you have an algea muncher/snail in there?

No serious algae issues in the tank. ~20ppm of co2, so no issues there. Plenty of plants in the tank.

****, that was some scary pictures, glad you got rid of it.

Total guess, but the reason you dont have an algae issue IN the thank is probably because this blob sucked up all the excess nutrients right at the output. But by removing this blob and using a canister filter (im guessing), the same extra nutrients will be available to the tank and you might have a algae problem then.

If so, i would reduce the dosing. It's even possible you have to increase dosing if you are not dosing all right now. Somebody more proficient in dosing might have a suggestion.
