Algae ID

Have you got another tank to keep the turbos in for a few days, maybe a week? The point is, don't let them have anything to eat for awhile. I can almost guarantee they will then it the algae.

Ya, I bought 6 turbos and put 3 in my 29G tank and 3 in my 75G. I will give them a little more time in the 75G to see if they eat it because there isn't a whole lot of other stuff for them to eat in there. I have a bunch of astrea and nassarius snails in that tank that have done a good job cleaning everything else.

another option would be to see if you know anybody nearby that would let you borrow one of their small tangs for a couple weeks to get rid of the algae

Ya, I just don't see that as an option. My tank is too small for any tang, and between my 16 other fish already in the tank I don't think a Tang would fare to well. There really isn't a whole lot of "swimming room" in my tank and that is exactly what a tang needs. Believe me, my LFS had an amazing looking baby Atlantic Blue tang, just got its blue adult coloring/markings but fins were still yellow.. looked really awesome, and only about 1-1/2" so at that size it would have been ok in my tank.. but I have been down that road once before with a yellow tang thinking I can just get rid of it when it outgrows the tank... never a good idea to think that way I found out.
