new to the hobby so in need of lots of help and advice - I've posted my story and some pics in the intro area...
Small aquarium has been running since shortly after the beginning of the year and has a couple small fish on it.
Rocks are covered in brown algae which I assume is diatome because it seems to be powdery and lying on the rock (not adhered in any way).
Some patches were turning green but recently noticed a few tiny spots which are white with a purplish tinge.
Any idea what they might be?
