For some reason the growth of the brazilian sword has stopped but it was growing for a month after i got it.

It is the only plant in my tank that has hair algae on it in small amounts that get bigger if not taken off.

The lighting is 55watt compact, i use ferts, and Co2 injection.

everything but this one plant is doing great, i mean to say there are som bubbles coming from it but the leaves in the center are almost stunted because they keep gowing out of the center but stop after a few inches.

I really want to solve both of these problems.

Also i use flourite and ferts so it is not suffering from lack of nutrients.

http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/algae.htm is a good source for resolving algae issues.

I'm not sure why it has stopped growing, but it seems that either your CO2 is not effectively being diffused in the water or you are not dosing enough ferts.

What size tank is it?

How much of what "ferts" are you dosing?

How often do you dose ferts?

What is the Kelvin value of the bulb in your fixture?

How long have you had the bulb in use?

What other plants are in the tank?

How often do you do water changes and how much do you change?

isn't a brazilian sword non aquatic? somebody told me that they were really just submerged peace lilies?

29 gallon

i just started dosing 5mil 2 days ago but previously i was dosing 2mil
I do this on a weekly basis.

I use flourish composite

8,000k

2-3 months

I have:

cork screw vals
green ludwigia
ludwigia repens
micro sword
amozon sword
java fern
I think it is penny wort
and this bulb thing that i can't find information on.
It is like these small tubes coming out fron the base and has almost liliy pad shaped leaves that are small.

14 hours a day.

from 7:00 to 8:00

should i cut it to 10 hours?

I have alot of plants in there and i wanted to make sure that they are all getting enough light.

I hate having to tell you this, but crimsonmoon is right. In the larger aquarium trade, "Brazilian Sword" plants being sold at fish stores and even a fair number of aquatic plant websites is not a sword plant (Echinodorus). It's a Spathyphyllum - aka "Peace Lily" ... which is - sadly - a very common NON-aquatic houseplant. If you want that particular plant to survive, you'll have to take it out of your aquarium.
