In the past couple of weeks, my plants have been starting to get a pretty heavy coating of what i think is algae (Brown spots and splotches along the top of the leaf, mostly the leaves near the light) Is this harmful for the plants? And it's making the plants look very unapealing, Im not really sure what to do. Any responses are appreciated.

hey

did you check to see if the light in your tank was ok for the plants that you have? because different plants need different lighting. but i am not sure that is it. i dont have alot of expierience with live plants so i may be wrong.

I had the same exact thing once but actually it was on silk plants near the top near the light on my son's 10 gallon tank...it was caused by overfeeding.
