Algaefix, have you used it?

We do have it on a timer actually. I told her to go ahead and turn the light off altogether. Whether she did or not remains to be seen.

I'm hoping to make a stop in tonight to check the tank over. I'm wondering if the filter may be damaged and not working properly.

Does anyone know if water temperature has an effect on blooms like this? The internal filter may be heating the water up a tad. I know she said that the air conditioning was on the fritz for a week or so as well.

I didn't get a chance to see the tank, but so far the fish are fine, the algae was gone within a few hours and things seem to be humming along nicely.

Keep in mind, it was just an algae bloom...green water. She's not mentioned anything about algae on the glass/decorations, etc.

I know I had a hair algae problem a few years back and excel did wonders for it.

I hope she swished the filter media in old tank water to remove the dead algae. She does the maintenace on the tank?
