all my new shrimp died???

I suppose it is possible I've heard of bad things riding along w/duckweed. Hydra comes to mind.
I'm very sorry you lost your shrimpies! I can't honestly think of anything else unless maybe the tank had been used for fish at one point and were treated for ich. Unless you have copper or heavy metals in your pipes. Or the water they came from was drastically different from your water.

haven't treated the tank, I use declorinator during every water change, acclimated them the way I should have(if it was that big of a difference I doubt they would have lived days before dying) they were all eating great the past few days, this is driving me crazy!!!

well thanks to all but I have now found the reason and sad to say it's all my fault!
when i went to that new pets place they had samples of different foods, I came home and floated 1 cichlid stick to see if my guppies might like it, totally forgot about it since I only floated that one and then started using the shrimp food, well the last ingrediant in the stcks is what??? COPPER SULFATE!:devil::devil:
I am so incrediably sorry i killed my shrimp!

:iagree:
Did you test copper?

don't have a copper test! have never needed to treat the tank!

QUESTION
THE SHRIMP CUSINE THAT I BOUGHT TO GIVE THE SHRIMP BETTER COLORING HAS COPPER SULFATE IN IT, IF THAT IS WHAT KILLS THEM THEN WHY IS IT IN THE FOOD?? I AM SO CONFUSED,DID I KILL THEM OR NOT??:swear:

The concentrations found in food should not kill them immediately. Alot of commercial foods fed to inverts have that small amoutn of copper sulfate in them. I doubt that is what killed your shrimp.

I saw them, I might actually try them, they also have pellets that are good for my crayfish also, that is the safest bet for me so gonna go order some, thanks!

ADDED:
ordered a LB of veggie sticks (will last a while but everyone will be happy!
Thanks msJ
