I have never had a brackish water tank before. But I bought a fish from the pet store and was told it was freshwater and it died. come to find out it was brackish. This has been many many years ago and I still cant find the fish no where. I want to set a brackish tank up but i know nothing about it. the fish i had and want to get more of was a bumble bee Gobi please all the advice i can get will be greatly appreciated.

Bumblebee Gobies can be kept in freshwater. If yours died, it was from a different reason.
They aren't hard to take care of, they just need high PH and proper feeding - they'll only take live and some frozen foods.

What types of fish do you want to keep? That will kind of determine what size tank, filtration, etc. If you choose to go with Scats, Monos, etc that will need saltwater one day will be a different stocking than say Mudskippers or Anableps or Knight Gobies or BBG's that do better in brackish for life.
Brackish is pretty similar in terms of difficulty as freshwater, they are usually pretty forgiving and aren't much harder other than the need to monitor salt levels. For most brackish fish a 1.010 reading will do pretty well, depends on the fish though. In AZ, I can maintain that by adding 1 cup of Instant Ocean Salt to 10g of water. Anyway so in order to help more list the types of fish that you want to keep and we can better help you in your quest to set up a brackish tank! Hope this helps and good luck!
