OK so some of you know that I put Samuel in his own tank day before yesterday. He hasn't eaten since and at first he kept a dark belly but now he brightens up but then goes back to a dark belly for a few hours then bright again. He swims the tank but kinda hangs out in a corner just hanging out. Not on the sand but close. He isn't breathing heavy and doesn't even look sick at all. It worried me that he is acting so different though. Is he just stressed and it'll take a minute for him to get use to the tank? I thought he might be lonely so I got him a friend today, a TINY percula. What do you guys think?

Did you test the water to make sure the tank params are fine?

I don't know if adding another fish was such a good thing to do, since something might be wrong with the water...

Also, don't go crazy adding fish in this tank, I know you got away with it in the 55 but you might not be so lucky in the 36 and I wouldn't like to see the puffer start tearing apart fish.

Why in the world would you add another fish to a tank with a fish that you already know is sick?

Water is great... All water came from other tank and tests perfect. And yea I think about three fish is all this one is going to handle. groovitudedude, there is no way he is sick, I know I am stressing over his stress. This guy is my oldest fish and is in perfect health. I lost my first fish last week. He was a rescue that never regained health. If it is one thing my fish have it's super nutrition. And argue with me all you want but I kicked an Ich outbreak with nutrition alone and then smartened up about the fact. Never had any problems since. I am questioning wether it was a good idea to add this puffer to this tank. I have never seen him act like this. It's not any disease of any sort, it's stress and I am not sure why... or if it is to be expected.

He might just be getting used to the new tank. Water, however, doesn't contain the beneficial bacteria to cycle a tank. Did you test the water to make sure?

Is the rock you used from the other tank or did you just buy it? Is it cured? Is it base rock?

I got the rock at the beginning of the week from a friend who was selling half his rock so it's mature LR. I get all my LR from her. I just tested the water again to make sure I am not just assuming.. Ammonia - 0 Nitrate - 20 Nitrite - 0 Phos - .6 (thats kinda high But expected, I use tap) PH - 8.2

Thanks Spock.. I am sure thats it... This guy has become a part of the family so I am kinda stressed myself.
