Hi All

I live in the UK, and all the filters I've ever seen never say anything about a bio-wheel. I've only ever heard you guys mention them about the Penguin and Emperor filters. What is a bio-whell and is this something uniquie to those particular brands, and if so where the do I get an emperor filter from here in the UK ?

Cheers thats useful info but where do I get a filter with a bio-wheel in the UK ?, I've never seen them mentioned on any of the filters I've read about which are readily available here. I've got a Fluval 204 canister and can't see anywhere in the information about it that it has a bio-wheel. And I'd have thought a product as well known as Fluval would incorporate the technology if its so good ???

The "Bio Wheel" is patented by Marineland, so Hagen (Fluval) just can't go and copy the design et al, unless they want to face a lawsuit :)

You also have to remember that both Marineland and Hagen are North American companies so it can take a while for something developed over here to make it over there.

So, while I haven't researched it, it's possible that there is a similar product released in North American already. Some online places ship overseas, you can take a look around on the internet and see if anyone carries Bio Wheels.

Marineland also makes the Bio Wheel Pro 60 which can hook up to almost any canister or HOB.
