Alternative to Assassin Snails?

This is true. I can't confidently identify a snail, but they look like standard snails to me. certainly not something I introduced on purpose, they showed up after a new set of plants were put in there. I think I was given snails from my LFS.

More than likely they came in on the plants. That's how most people get them including myself. I have ramshorns but I really enjoy watching them scoot across the glass.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do with them. :)

I have been fighting an infestation of Melanoides Tuberculate for the last month.
I am winning
frist stop feeding the tank, after three or four days drop a dip net into your tank and bait it with alge disc .The next morning pick up the net and you have a couple hunderd snails. worked for me you might try it.

Barring certain large species, snails will not eat healthy plants unless there is absolutely no other food source in the tank (obviously not the case here). They will feed on dead or dying plant matter.

Dosing ferts always helps, but realize plants will not heal damaged leaves, only put out new healthier leaves.

Excellent points by all. I think I am just going to let them do their thing, only the mother plants were affected, that being their lower leaves, so it should be all good. I don't think I want to deal with fighting snails haha. They always win right?
