Since no one else has said it, be sure NOT to buy Stresszyme, Proquatics Bacteria Starter, etc. They do not work. If you think about it, bacteria in a bottle, on a shelf for who knows how long...that doesn't make sense really. Just thought I would make that clear. I do have a bottle of the Proquatics that is nearly full that I will sell cheap though if anyone wants to prove me wrong...

I agree that store bought stress zyme etc only helps at water changes if at all. Otherwisa a waste of time I have used fritz zyme from fritzpet.com and that worked for me but the shipping was expensive to overnight it has to stay cold.

This is my preferred method. Got a cycle on my 33 gallon in 4 days that way. No panic moments either.

I jsut cycled my 35 hex in 4 days with bio-spira. All I can say is WOW. My lfs sells it for 12bucks and change. Well worth it.
