Then you are correct... Your water is good for a few things, one of them being africans. I just saw a big school of Brichardi tonight in a 55 with a mated pair of Black Calvus. There were big rocks and shells and all sand substrate. I say you try that, or try a pair of Compressiceps with them.

Dynasty, I didn't. I decided to go with Central Americans instead. I love these fish though! One of the recommendations I had was to pair them with a school of cyprochromis, which I think would be beautiful. Especially with a white calvus. Have you seen them?
a tank with cyps and altolamprologuses would definitely look good - i like the contrast in shape and color plus 1 specie would occupy the mid-top levels while the other occupies the bottom.
