Yup, Scalare. Poor guy's tail is a bit torn up.
I kept Keyhole cichlids and Kribs with mine, when I had them.
If you want color, Kribs may be the way to go.
I wasn't questioning your maintenance habits. You asked what will help him heal. I told you.
Clean healthy water should be all he needs. Add the melafix if you so desire.
I would suggest several water changes per week (clean water )
this is definitely Scalare looks like not too far out of wild tho..maybe F1 or F2
believe me if it was altum you'd know it and you'd pay dearly for it.
the fin is a bit torn but the damageis minor so just keep the water clean
that said why worry about the festivum..the angel is just as prone to target those two species.
how big is this tank(you may have mentioned it but I don't remember)?
The tank is 55 gallons. I really want a Tapajos orange head cichlid but can't find much info on them. Dwarf pikes also look nice but they are predatory fish that will eat the smaller fish.
