I have a 29 gallon with the following

3 Swordtails (1 male, 2 female)
3 Siamese Algae Eater
3 Ottos
7 Guppies (2 males, 5 females)
1 common pleco (about to be gone, eating plants)
4 ghost shrimp

The tank is planted and I am wanting to add about 6 cardinal tetras. I have a 10 gallon currently cycling so all fry and maybe a few of these fish could go in there. What do you guys think? Is it safe to add the tetras or wait til some of the others in the tank die of old age?

I wouldn't add any more fish to your tank, though the removal of the pleco will give you some wiggle room for the existing fish. They should live for many years, so if you want the cardinals, either remove some of these fish ( I would move the guppies into the 10) or set up another tank. The SAE will eventually outgrow your tank--they get up to 5-6 inches pretty quickly.
