AM I OVERWEIGHT????

They would probably just sit at the bottom of the tank and avoid the current, and the fact you know who Richard Simmons sort of dates you but I knew who he was as well so there you go. But seriously other than separating them I don't see how I am to slim them down if it is obesity, as the other occupants in the tank need to be fed. And when I went away at Christmas my father in law only feed them every second day and at 1/2 daily rations to avoid nitrate build up as he would not do a water change these fish didn't seem to change shape.

Wow. Those are some well fed fish.

They don't look like they have dropsy - scales are flat, & the abdomen dosen't have that sudden rise dropsy gives a fish.

What on earth are you feeding them?:)

Holy smokes! Yup, they're ...... well fat isn't the right word....they are HUMONGOUS! Mine are only a year old and I believe I have a male and female and they still have their youthful shapes!

1. It can have dropsy
2. It might be constipated
3. It might just be fat

I hope it is not dropsy but I don't think so after reading up on it. They eat what everyone else eats they are obviously not fussy. But they are pigs when it comes to zucchini. They push all the other fish off the zucchini so that I have to put in 3 pieces at least. one for each SAE and the third for the others to share.
