Amano eggs

That was really interesting- So OLd Vamp did you have pretty much the same experience where the breeding was s urprise? Are you going to try and raise them?

Hey sorry for the double post- but I was feeling like a terrible shrimp keeper since I learned that I have males and females and no eggs- and then today guess what I found? So from what I understand from that article- the larvae don't need filtration just an airstone? is it possible for me to try and split the fry between two two gallons and expect any to survive? I know nothing of saltwater- how much do I need o know to attempt this?

I doubt i'll try to raise them, I dont have any experience with salt. They don't seem to be very good parents as they have lost most of their eggs, only the ones on the front swimmers are left.

I believe the "brackish" water formula is 1 teaspoon aquarium salt per 1.3 gallons water. I have no personal experiance with Amanos, but I read they eat only plankton and similar-sized microbes. A sponge filter would be a VERY good idea for this reason.

Amanos need water quality above everything for the fry to survive. My amano shrimp breed regularily in my planted tank, enough for my angels to snack on a few now and then and there are still tonnes in the tank.
