any idea of ideal salinity for amano shrimp? any experiences with the 2 together? i was thinking about doing amano shrimp but kept seeing that salt needed to be added, so i thought maybe the two together would be great in a 10. a small group of the gobies and probably a bunch of the shrimp. then ill add some java moss and maybe a couple other appropriate plant species. so far thats the plan on a no more than one inch layer of small gravel with a whisper 10 filter, probably with a biobag over the intake to prevent anyone from being sucked up in the filter. any thoughts/recommendations/further questions please post.

Salinty = zero. Amano shrimp are not brackish, they are FW. The larvae, once hatched, get swept into estuaries and the sea where they feed. They return back to FW after the postlarvae stage to live out their lives.

I actually have both the amano shrimp and bumblebees in the same 5 gallon tank. However I've been running it on freshwater and the bumblebees seem to be doing great. FW will also allow you a greater choice of plants as I can seem to get any plants growing in BW conditions.
