Amano shrimp lifespan?

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I saw one of my amano shrimp today after not seeing them for a long time. I put 2 of them in my tank in in March 2008 and saw it today which makes it more than 4 years old. I have no idea how old it was when I got it.

It has been 5 years and my Amano female shrimp is still doing well, but not as agile as she used to be though. Sadly, her male companion perished 6 months ago!

That's the longest living amano I've ever heard of! I had a group for nearly 3.5 years and thought I was doing good, dang. Congrats!

I would think mine is pretty old but someone on YouTube has one that is 10-year-old (since 2003)....

While I was moving my planted tank's contents from a 29 to a 55 I found three Amano shrimp. I just checked, and I hadn't added any to the tank since mid '07, so they are at least five years old (maybe older since I'd added some in '05). It was densely planted with a lot of stacked driftwood making caves. I saw them very rarely and had thought I'd only had one in there.
