Amano shrimp!!!

I had to share: I bought 6 Amano Shrimp today for $9.99! They are living in my ten gallon community. I really thought that the people who set up "shrimp farms" were crazy, but I am enchanted by the little guys! I must have spent an hour watching them zip around the tank since they came home. Very cute! I'll post pics Tuesday (tomorrow's my 2 year wedding anniversary!).

yeah, I really like my amanos. they have grown so fast, and are so active. they show a lot of personality especially in their reactions to the other fish... I imagine them saying, "oh excuse me, pardon me" all the time, the way they get out of the way of the fish. I also have a cherry shrimp and it is really boring by comparison, much less active, much more inclined to hide. the amanos even like it near the surface in the rapidly moving water from my waterfall... I love them too. mine were 1.50 each.

Just wait until they really settle in, and start running upside down across the surface of the water, looking for food! I keep 4 in a 10 gallon, and they go crazy trying to get the NLS small pellets before the betta does.

I want some!!! My LFS doesn't carry them. I have three ghost shrimp and have fun watching them (when I can see them). I can't imagine how much fun you must be having! Congrats!

They're on my wish list! I just don't have the tank space available right now. I have bamboo shrimp, and can just sit and watch them (and they hardly move!).
