I'm looking to add a some Japonica Amano Shrimp to my tank. I am having trouble finding them in the local Philadelphia Pet stores and the online stores charge outrageous rates to ship. Does anyone know of a good store online or in the Philly area for Amano Shrimp?

I believe you could talk to Msjinkzd, the author of the sticky at the top. She told me a couple of weeks ago she was going to get some in. I havn't had the oppertunity to buy from her yet but she has rave reviews and I believe you would get a fair price and good product from her.

The Petco in King of Prussia has had stock. They have been $2.50 or so each. Also call Captain Nemos in Plymouth Meeting. What area of philly are near? I'll be at the Bucks County Aquarium Society meeting on Thurs at 7:30pm. The group may have some ideas of who has them in stock in a wider circle then I travel.

I live in South Philly. Thx Izzy2

Just across the river from Lancaster, York County. I do ship as well, $5 for priority which to philly is second day.

Aquarium Center in Lindenwold, NJ has them for $1.89 on a fairly regular basis. Just google and call them up to verify they're in stock. Maybe a 40min drive from south Philly? The store has some rarer freshwater fish that you won't find at most LFS and a good selection of freshwater plants. Their saltwater selection is pretty good, too.

If you don't want to drive, though, I would highly recommend getting them shipped from msjinkzd. Her stock are the healthiest I've seen. In my tank they usually outgrow any other Amanos I've bought from anywhere else and get quite big.
