Amano Shrimp

Anybody ever run into any problems keeping dwarf frogs with amanos or cherry shrimp? Or with ghost shrimp, for that matter. Any shrimp?

I've heard stories of shrimp actually eating limbs off of the frogs...

I put dwarf african frogs in my tank once and the first thing they did was go after the ghost shrimp. But I have also heard of people keeping the two together. In my experience those fros eat anything that moves

Limb-eating "ghost shrimp" are likely misidentified Macrobrachium, which sometimes come in with shipments of feeder Palaemonetes.

Tricksterpup I agree and they do not eat their own kind like ghost shrimp sometimes do. My amanos are more of a pet than ghost shrimp. If I have my hand in the aqu my amanos will crawl on my hand and clean it... its like Jaque from "Finding Nemo" :D

wow.. I have not had any of my Amano do that, I find that really enteresting and its really cool. The only problems I had with my Amano have been crawl outs, so if you try some of these guys and I highly recommend them. Is to get a glass top for the tank and plenty of hiding areas in your tank.

I have not had any climb out before.. or not that I am aware of, its hard to find them all. They seem to like something to climb on. I have lots of driftwood and a driftwood "tree" with java fern planted on it. They mostly stay on these all day and climb up and down and swim from wood to wood. They like to dig into the wood for food particles. So if you have enough for them to climb on, maybe they'll stay inside. My tank is bursting with plants.
