hi all, my LFS suggested me to try on stocking on some amano shrimps, along side flourish excel dosing to get rid of the bba in my tank. he also mentioned adding a phosphate remover to the mix. my question right now is would having an amano shrimp be detrimental to the survival of my fry?

thanks...

PS. reason why i am wanting to get rid of the BBA is that it took to town my windelov and java ferns on my drift wood. now most of those plants are dark dark brown... or dead i would suppose...lol... i might consider reattaching anubias nana since they seem to be the more hardy ones against bba.

thanks for all your advice and suggestions in advance

SAE's are about the only fish that will go for BBA, I tested Zebra Nerites, they did nothing. Some claim they do.......I've never been able to show they eat BBA.

thanks guys... the amanos are doing a great job so far... well there are still some BBA or hair algae on my ferns but they did a good job cleaning out the green algae on my drift wood. now i could not find my amanos. im fairly new to the keeping of amano shrimps so im kinda naive about their nature... do they hide at night and come out during the day?

aights thats good to know ... well they have just been in the tank for about 2 days now... could mollies be considered predators by the shrimps? the only fishes that i have in my tank are mollies and 4 cardinals
