I know I have said this before but it amazes me so oh well!! I think it is a crazy site to see a ghost shrimp suck a pond snail right out of it's shell! This has to be cought on video! these snails aren't safe anywhere! (not that they are here to be safe)

Weird, I haven't seen mine do that before. I didn't even know they could.

I've seen mine eat snails whole, but not remove them from their shells. Was the snail dead?

Must have been either a huge ghost shrimp or a baby snail.

There is a very smart Ghost Shrimp that hangs out in the front of my tank, until I feed my fish live bloodworms. After I drop a pinch in, the shrimp will swim up the glass, find a worm, grab it with its claws, sink back down to the bottom, and will begin to eat the worm alive. It's pretty gruesome.

lol.. the snail was just crawling on the bottom and she jumped ontop amd picked at it until it crwled into it's shell and slurped it up! You could see it come out of it's shell and go into her body! crazy! She has done this a few times before. when I cleared my 10g - a 20g i found alot of empty shells and she is pretty big!

It was a ghost shrimp. I really can't say if the shrimp was able to digest the shell, but I watched the whole snail go in; shell and all.

Mine compete with my betta for bloodworms and flakes, climbing over him to get to the waters surface. He doesn't seem to mind, luckily for the shrimp lol

Personally, I love love love to see ghosties swimming! It doesn't happen often in my tanks, but when it does, well they just look so joyful and carefree! My fave ghostie, I named Happy Legs just for this reason. To see her lil swimmerettes in action as she glides through the water, a constant source of big smiles for me!
