I have a 72g community tank with largely Tetras and such. I have four good size pieces of Mopani wood in it. It is moderately planted. My question for others is Amazon extract or not? I have used the API extract in the past (no coloring), but can't find it. Switched to Tetra extract, and it colors the water. I don't know if there is a difference or not using it or not.
Comments please.

I agree.

Bottles of tannins are very expensive. Try Indian almond leaves if you can get them. Oak leaves may be an alternative.
Oak leaves ARE an alternative that works nicely. Just make sure they aren't contaminated with lawncare chemicals. Collect them in the woods to be sure.
