I am making an amazon biotope in my 20 gallon high. I need to kwow good plants for it. Please also help if you know of any carpeting plants.

java moss can be used. Flame moss can be used. Dwarf baby tears can make an amazing carpet. Those 3 would work well to form a nice carpet in a planted tank. What type of lighting do you have? do you dose fertilizers? do you use Co2?
No, I use low lighting, like about 1-2 watts per gallon, no ferts, no co2. Are dwarf baby tearspretty common?
Actually If you want to be strict with the plant selection for your Amazon biotope none of the previously mentioned plants are from the Amazons. I'm talking about Flame and Java moss which are from South East Asia and dwarf baby tears from the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
I don't know of any carpeting plant that's from the Amazons since for the most part the water there is murky and carpeting plants need high level of sunlight. A while back I was thinking about setting up an Amazon biotope myself but after I found out most of the plants I liked werent from there, I gave up on the project LOL!

You WON'T grow babytears in that setup period.

yeah i agree in that set up it would be hard to get the carpeting effect for dwarf baby tear grass. Yeah it's also not from the amazon.
for low light setup, just your averge sword at your lfs. they will take forever to get big, and you can take off the outer leaves one by one if needed. they are tons out there, almost every single one will get big. i have tried melon sword and tri-color sword and the regular sword at the lfs. they all outgrew my tanks, but i have crazy lighting.
